Collection Development Committees

It takes many people to make sure that the library’s collection is meeting the needs of our users. To help select, evaluate, and maintain access to collections, the library has established several committees:

The Collection Development Team
This team is responsible for recommending collection policy to the University Libraries' administration and coordinating collection development activities throughout the University Libraries system. Recommendations will be forwarded to the Collection Development Committee (Monday Morning Meeting) for action. The work of this team will be accomplished through a standard meeting format, i.e., agenda items will be solicited prior to the meeting, an agenda will be the basis of the discussion and minutes will be prepared. The meetings will be attended by the designated members of the team.

Collection Development Committee (Monday Morning Meeting)
This group follows through on recommendations from the Collection Development Team and makes recommendations for the approval of the Library Director on collection development matters. This committee is chaired by the Collection Development Librarian.

Liaisons Team
The Liaisons team is responsible for establishing active communication between the Library and faculty in the academic departments and programs. The Liaisons team will inform faculty about Library services, policies and goals. The Liaisons will also communicate to Library departments and administration faculty concerns about the Library. The work of this team will be accomplished through formal and informal methods chosen to meet the unique requirements of the academic unit. Liaisons will also participate in selection of materials in their assigned areas.
