The Binding Collection staff collects periodical issues from the stacks for delivery to the Binding staff. Collection staff picks up collect slips daily from Serials Acquisitions for current periodical subscriptions when complete binding units have been received.

Collected periodicals are delivered to Binding daily.

Binding staff prepares library materials for bi-weekly shipment to the commercial bindery. This staff creates holdings data in USCAN for periodical volumes which are being bound. Materials sent to the bindery are checked out and displayed in the OPAC as charged to the Bindery.

The Preparations staff physically prepare new books by applying spine labels and inserting errata. They also perform in-house binding of selected materials and repair materials.
