Located one floor above the main entrance level of the Thomas Cooper Library, the Mezzanine Exhibit Area provides space for the display of exhibitions drawn from the library's rare and in some cases unique holdings, maintained by the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections. Recent exhibits have included such diverse subjects as children's literature, Charles Darwin, Charles Frazier's Cold Mountain, Giuseppe Garibaldi, and the culture of camellias.
