The Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2013 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
The Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections is committed to making materials from its collections accessible to students, scholars, and the wider community. Department holdings include 150,000 items and over 50 archival collections, ranging from early medieval manuscripts and incunabula to modern literature and historical scientific works. To search the Irvin Department’s collections use the catalogue and finding aids.
The Irvin Department is located in the Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library, at the south side of the main Thomas Cooper Library. Enter by the bridge at the opposite end of the main floor from the Thomas Cooper entrance.
