Scope and Contents Note
This group of publications reflects the
activities and major initiatives of the National Endowment for the Arts
during the years 2003-2008. The collection was a gift to the university
from Director Dana Gioia’s office in 2008 and is especially
comprehensive in its documentation of The Big Read program, which was
sponsored by the NEA and debuted in 2006. One of the first novels
chosen for The Big Read was The Great Gatsby.
