Please join us on May 9th for the 73rd Annual Meeting of the University South Caroliniana Society We are honored to host keynote speaker Dr. Drew Gilpin Faust President of Harvard University Historian of the U.S. Civil War and the American South Dr. Faust will discuss This Republic of Suffering, her sixth book, and one that drew upon a wide variety of sources from the South Caroliniana's collections. In addition to her duties as President, Dr. Faust also holds the Lincoln Professorship in History at Harvard, a position to which she was appointed after serving as Dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study from 2001-2007.
