Broadside, 7 February 1859, promotes an appearance of the “First Night of the New Orleans English Opera Company!” at Kinsler’s Hall, Columbia, S.C. The flyer lists W.S. Lyster as director and identifies the players, including Rosalie Durand, Georgia Hodson, and Fred Lyster, who would perform an English-language version of the comic opera The Daughter of the Regiment!, by Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848).

John J. Kinsler resided at 77˝ Richardson Street. Kinsler’s theatre was located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Taylor and Richardson Streets. Admission for this Monday evening performance was priced at $1.00, with “children and servants half price”; advance tickets were available at Mr. Ramsey’s Music Store. Flyer was printed in Augusta (Ga.) by the Constitutionalist Steam Press.
