Scope and Content:
Consisting of business and personal papers of Columbia, S.C., businessman Wadsworth B. Neeley reflecting his work as a salesman with R.M. Hollingshead Company, a distributor of soap and cleaning supplies headquartered in Camden, N.J.; as manager of City Motor Company, Orangeburg, S.C., a Chrysler/Plymouth/DeSoto dealership; and as owner of Neeley Weatherstripping and Venetian Blind Company. The bulk of the collection relates to City Motor Company and includes correspondence of brothers A.B. and W.D. Bennett, who owned controlling shares in the company; promotional materials distributed by Chrysler/Plymouth/DeSoto Motor Company; car sales inventory records; and credit company \reports. Also present are bills and receipts documenting the working relationship between City Motor Company with Columbia and Charleston automotive dealerships and parts suppliers.
