Copying in the Libraries

The Newsfilm Library , Rare Books & Special Collections , South Carolina Political Collections , and the South Caroliniana Library have different procedures and charges for copying material. Please contact the appropriate unit for more information.  


There are photocopiers in the Business Library, Music Library, and Thomas Cooper Library. Copies cost $ .10 per page for black and white.

In Thomas Cooper Library, photocopiers that accept the CarolinaCard are on:

A CarolinaCard machine is located on the Main Level. This can be used to purchase a CarolinaCard for the purpose of copying or to add money to a CarolinaCash account.

Photocopiers that accept coins and bills are on the Main Level and Level 4.

For help with the copiers in Thomas Cooper Library please ask at the Circulation Desk on the Main Level.

Departmental photocopying accounts may be used to make copies within Thomas Cooper Library. To setup an account, contact Chad Price, Circulation Department, Thomas Cooper Library at (803) 777-3145.

Photoduplication services for patrons are available at the Circulation Desk in Thomas Cooper Library.


There are scanners (three PC and two Mac compatible) for USC students, faculty and staff to use in the Cooper Technology Lounge in Thomas Cooper Library. Software for OCR and photomanipulation is also available.

The Government Information and Microforms Department has equipment for patrons to scan from microforms and save to CD-R and flash drives.


The Music Library performs dubbing services for teaching faculty and course reserves.
