Your Library Card

You need a barcode number for some of the University Libraries' online services and to be able to check out books. Get a CarolinaCard!

Students who don’t come to campus for classes can get a barcoded library card from Distributed Learning Support Services.  Order your USC Library ID

Columbia campus registered students who live beyond Richland or Lexington counties can call the Thomas Cooper Library Circulation Department (803-777-3145) to get a barcode number if the CarolinaCard office is closed when you are on campus.

Searching

When accessing library resources from off-campus you'll be prompted to enter your USC information. If you have problems, click here for troubleshooting tips.

Lockers - Lockers are available on the Main Floor of the Thomas Cooper Library. These are convenient for long stays at the library as they provide a place to store your materials if you need to temporarily leave the library. These can be checked out at Circulation using your CarolinaCard.
