AOL Users

In order to access databases from AOL, users need a full version of AOL4.x, 5.x, or 6.x which allows for an external browser to be used at the same time. DO NOT try to configure the browser that AOL is using, it does not work with the proxy server.

AOL users that do not have a standard copy of Netscape 4.x   must download and install a standard copy of this software and then configure this browser for the library proxy server.
To download Netscape 4.7 (NOT Netscape 6.0) go to:

http://home.netscape.com/download/archive.html?cp=dowarc

This software can take up to 2 hours to download

When both AOL and a standard  browser (we recommend Netscape 4.x)  is installed, the AOL user should do the following:
1.  Connect to the AOL service in the usual way.

2.  Minimize the AOL screen.

3.  Start the external Netscape. Netscape will use the AOL connection to connect to the Internet.

4.  Configure Netscape to use a proxy server as described here.
