Maybe it’s just our wishful thinking for a little snow in South Carolina this winter, but we’re delighted by this sheet music cover.
The cover and the score, published in 1910, can be found in the Music Library’s Sheet Music Catalog. This searchable database currently contains more than 10,000 pieces of classical, popular, and sacred music from the 19th and early 20th centuries, online and freely accessible.
The Music Library’s copy of “Winter: March Song” was donated by Laurence H. Conger, or Larry Conger as jazz aficionados will know him. A trumpet player, Mr. Conger has produced four albums and, earlier in his career, traveled and recorded with some jazz greats. He has given a number of items to the Music Library, and we are grateful for his generous friendship.
