  • RILM Abstracts of Music Literature

    International in scope, RILM provides indexing and abstracts for periodicals in all areas of music, including classical traditional and popular, and covers all document types.

  • RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals

    RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals is an international annotated bibliography of writings on musical history and culture, found in music periodicals published in seventeen countries between approximately 1800 and 1950. 

  • International Index to Music Periodicals

    Indexing and abstracts to international scholarly and popular music periodicals, covering the full spectrum of music topics and genres.

  • Oxford Music (Grove)

    Contains the full text of several music reference works, most importantly Grove Music Online, The Oxford Companion to Music, and The Oxford Dictionary of Music.  It also provides contextual to links to images, sound, and other related web sites.

  • Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online

    Contains an overview of the region, a survey of its musical heritage, traditions and themes; and a description of specific musical genres, practices, and performances.  Mostly text, but does have some videos and audio.

  • Academic Search Complete

    Covers all subject areas.  Has a mix of magazines and journals, including many that are peer-reviewed.

  • Classical Scores Library, Volumes I - III

     Printable scores of Western classical music. Provides access to full scores, study scores, piano and vocal scores, etc. from the Renaissance to the 21st century.

  • Dissertations and Theses

    Contains citations,abstracts and possibly full text for over 2 million dissertations and theses. The database accepts over 90 percent of doctoral dissertations in North America.

  • Education Source *and* ERIC

    Search both of the major education databases at the same time.

  • Google Scholar

    Search specifically for scholarly literature.  To access the full-text to which the University Libraries subscribes, from Google Scholar

    - Click Save
