Libraries Donors and Friends
The Ex Libris Society is a recognition organization that provides invaluable assistance to the University Libraries. Donor contributions to the Libraries’ endowments and funds support acquisitions, preservation and programs.
The Thomas Cooper Society is a volunteer support organization for the Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, encouraging community interest in the Department and promoting a fuller understanding of its purpose, programs, and potential. Opportunities for cultural enrichment are offered through a stimulating series of addresses, exhibits, and special events. The Society fosters gifts, endowments, and memorials, enabling the Department to acquire distinctive and valuable materials for students, faculty, and other scholars.
The University South Caroliniana Society is a private, non-profit patron organization of the South Caroliniana Library. The Society supports the acquisition of South Carolina-related research materials of all kinds and from all periods and promotes the preservation, appreciation, and use of these materials.
Members of the Carolina Guardian Society share a commitment to the future of the University, demonstrating their dedication and support by including the University in their estate plans.
The Horseshoe Society was established in 1998 to pay tribute to the heritage of the University by honoring those alumni, donors, and special University supporters who have made gifts of $100,000 or more.
