Dr. G. Ross Roy's 80th birthday, August 24, 2004

Mr. K. D. Kennedy, Jr. established this endowment to support the Robert Burns collection at Thomas Cooper Library. Funds will be used to acquire or preserve materials, issue publications and produce events and programs.

The Burns Collection

Mr. Kennedy visited the G. Ross Roy Collection of Burns, Burnsiana and Scottish Poetry at the University Libraries and wished to support its work and future development through the establishment of this Endowment. The Burns Collection, acquired from Professor Roy in 1989 and now housed in the Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, is widely recognized as one of the finest Burns collections in North America.
