University Libraries - Arthur E. Holman, Jr. Conservation Laboratory Endowment

Arthur E. Holman, Jr. Conservation Laboratory Endowment

A. Elliott Holman, III, with his parents,
Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Elliott Holman, Jr.

The late John E. Swearingen, an engineering graduate ('38) and longtime supporter of the University, established this Endowment in memory of his friend and Carolina classmate, Arthur E. Holman, Jr., now deceased.  At Mr. Swearingen's request, the conservation laboratory was named the Arthur E. Holman, Jr. Conservation Laboratory.

Funds generated by the Endowment will provide support for the ongoing operation of the laboratory that will include funding to support graduate assistants and other student workers, as well as to purchase equipment and supplies.

This Endowment is a meaningful tribute to Mr. Holman, whose family has long supported the Libraries. His mother was a charter member of the University South Caroliniana Society.
