Republican John Light Napier reflects on his political career, long association with Senator Strom Thurmond, and his term in Congress (1981-1982), as representative for South Carolina’s Sixth District. He also speaks of the leaders of the early Republican Party in South Carolina, his work as a lobbyist, and his efforts on behalf of Alan Schafer, founder of South of the Border near Dillon, SC.
