Littlejohn, C. Bruce (1913-2007)

Cameron Bruce Littlejohn represented Spartanburg County in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1937 to 1943 and 1947 to 1949, the latter three years as Speaker. He resigned in 1949 when he won a judicial appointment. For the next thirty-five years, Littlejohn served on South Carolina's Seventh Circuit Court and the South Carolina Supreme Court, attaining the post of Chief Justice in his last two years on the Court.

The collection consists of records, chiefly 1935-1996, documenting Littlejohn's legislative career as member of the South Carolina House of Representatives (Spartanburg County), 1936-1943, and Speaker, 1946-1949; his service as resident judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of South Carolina, 1949-1967; his tenure as associate justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court, 1967-1984, and Chief Justice, 1984-1985; and political campaigns and writings.
