Cook, Crawford (1934-2016)
Crawford Cook, political consultant, talks of his life and entry into politics as campaign manager for Marshall Parker’s 1962 bid for Lieutenant Governor, his work in Fritz Hollings’ successful 1966 race for the U.S. Senate, and his role as Hollings’ first Administrative Assistant, 1966-1968. Cook’s insights are particularly valuable in describing the nuances of Hollings’ character, his 1966 Senate campaign, and the character and campaign of Cook’s close friend and Hollings’ 1966 Republican opponent, Marshall Parker.
