University Libraries - Caroliniana

As we celebrate this significant milestone, we invite you to be a part of preserving and protecting the South Caroliniana Library so it can continue as an iconic national treasure that houses premier collections for studying the American South and our nation’s history. Click here to learn more about the building and renovation plans.

As a result of moving collections offsite to prepare for renovations, access to materials may be delayed. Please contact the reference staff at 803-777-3132 or to request materials 24 business hours before you visit.

The South Caroliniana Library is one of the premier research archives and special collections repositories in the state of South Carolina and the southeastern United States. Its holdings are essential to the understanding of South Carolina and Southern culture over the last three hundred years.
