University Libraries - Color Our Collections

Color our Collections

Special collections libraries from around the world are taking part in Color our Collections week, February 1-5, an initiative to bring more fun and enthusiasm to many of the rare materials held by these libraries.

Our first book is a collection of late 16th and early 17th century maps from Civitates Orbis Terrarum (Cities of the World). View the John and Mary Osman Braun and Hogenberg Collection.

The second book of astronomical images is excerpted from the 1786 Atlas Celeste; Or, the Celestial Atlas by John Bevis. Click here or use the button below to download a PDF of 10 images carefully selected from the volume by our curators. You can also flip through a digital version of the complete Atlas Celeste.

The third book features images from illustrated editions of Shakespeare held by the Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections.

The fourth book features materials from South Carolina Political Collections.
