CTE: Integrative Learning is… Reflection

Center for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511
Mar 14, 2012 1:10 PM - Feb 14, 2012 2:00 PM

Jeremy Lane, Associate Director, Center for Teaching Excellence

Integrative learning involves a blending of within-the classroom activities with intentionally selected beyond-the-classroom experiences. It occurs when students reflect on the connections between their experiences and apply their knowledge in new contexts. This workshop focuses on a need to provide opportunities for students to engage and make learning more meaningful. One way to help students make lasting connections between course material and real-world applications is through purposeful reflection. Attendees to this session will gain insight to the use of student reflection as a strategy to help students deepen and personalize their educational experiences.
