CTE: Getting Good Teaching Evaluations, Teaching Assts.

Center for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511
Feb 15, 2012 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Jed Lyons, Faculty Director, Center for Teaching Excellence

The best way to get good teaching evaluations from students is to be a good teacher. Should you be like your favorite teacher? Maybe, or maybe not. The best teacher is a genuine, authentic representation of the person involved. Developing your own teaching persona that demonstrates both content mastery and interpersonal rapport is key to getting good teaching evaluations. In this session, we will discuss how to maintain rigor in course content in such a way that the students are educated as well as engaged. Required (end of semester) and suggested (mid- semester) methods for student feedback on instruction will also be discussed.

Workshop for Teaching Assistants:  Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 3:30-4:30p.m.
