Open Gallery Weekend March 31 and April 1

The Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library will open its galleries to the public from 1-4 p.m. for two upcoming weekends, Mar. 31 - Apr. 1 and Apr. 14 - 15.
The
South Carolina Political Collections
Gallery will feature,“Public Figures/Private Lives: A Valentine’s
Exhibit" which includes letters, photos, and other mementos of South
Carolina political figures and "John Bolt Culbertson: 'The South's
Bravest White Man," highlighting the life and career of the civil rights
and labor activist.
The Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections Gallery will feature an exhibit titled, “Imprints of a Nation: Eighteenth-Century Scottish Writers and
Publishers.”
In addition, the Irvin Department will show the 1995 documentary Witness: The Ecological Poetry of W.S. Merwin, a project directed by John Carpenter and produced by Larry Cameron, on the hour both days.
The Thomas Cooper Society, the volunteer support society of the Thomas Cooper Library, will feature remarks by the distinguished poet W.S. Merwin at its Annual Dinner on Friday, April 20th. The dinner is a ticketed event. For additional information contact Maggie Bergmans at 777-3142.
