CTE: Strategies for Accommodating Common Student Disabilities
Center for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511Jan 23, 2012 3:35 PM - 4:25 PM
Karen Pettus, Director, Office of Student Disability Services
Over 700 students with disabilities have been identified at our university. If you have one or more of these students in your classes, you should receive a letter from the Office of Student Disability Services that outlines the basic accommodations for each student. The question is, how can you handle these accommodations? In this session we will discuss strategies for accommodating several common student issues: test proctoring, note taking, and absences. This session will help you prepare to respond effectively to these types of requests. For more information and to register for this event visit http://cte.sc.edu/S12/Disabilities/.
