A portrait of former USC Libraries Dean Paul Willis (shown at left with his wife Barbara and portrait artist Scotty Peek) was unveiled September 29 during a short ceremony and reception that also celebrated his 70th birthday.

Willis was dean of the Libraries from July 2002 to July 2007. During this time, he was instrumental in the planning and completion of the new Hollings Library. He also established the Libraries' Ex Libris Society and championed the Libraries' digital initiatives.

The oil portrait was painted by USC alumnus Scotty Peek, who is now an art and photography instructor at S.C. State University.

Stop by to see the portrait, which hangs just outside the Administrative Offices in TCL, Mezzanine Level.
