CTE: Integrative Learning is…ResearchCenter for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511
Sep 19, 2011 2:30 PM - 3:20 PM
Undergraduate research presents students with real-life problems in a hands-on environment. The learning opportunities provided by a research experience allow students to integrate classroom acquired skills with independent learning, interpersonal skills and professional skills to present students with new perspectives in their field of study. However, undergraduate research presents a positive experience for such integrated learning only if delivered in a positive work and mentorship environment that presents realistic challenges for the student. This talk will address the challenges of providing an effective undergraduate research experience for integrative learning.
