CTE: Integrative Learning is... Leadership
Center for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511Sep 8, 2011 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
The concepts of ‘leadership’ and ‘integrated learning’ encompass a wide variety of definitions that often lead to confusing conclusions about how they can be used in specific courses and for student development. This presentation will focus on each aspect and discuss how leadership development can be taught using three simple concepts, the 3D’s of leadership: Different, Dependable, and Dynamic. We will then discuss potential strategies and alternatives centered on integrated learning experiences that can help all instructors bring these concepts ‘to life’ for their students in a variety of different courses.
