And Lest We Forget: Remembering Ward One

South Caroliniana Library (Lumpkin Foyer)
Jan 18, 2010 - Mar 13, 2010
The Ward One community was an African-American neighborhood that existed in the area of the present-day Carolina Coliseum, Koger Center, Colonial Center, Green Quad and Greek Village. The exhibition presents the research findings of students in African-American Documentary History, an honors class. In addition to research at the University Archives, South Caroliniana Library, the Moving Image Research Collections, Map Library, Richland County Public Library, and the Columbia Housing Authority, the students also interviewed residents from the community.
