CTE Workshop, Writing SoTL Papers, 10:10-11:00amCenter for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511
Nov 6, 2009
Papers about Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects can take several forms. They can be reports on particular classes, reflections on years of teaching experience that are informed by other scholarship on teaching, comparisons of course or student changes across time, formal research, or summaries and analyses of sets of prior studies. In this workshop, we will discuss how a scholar can select a suitable style and effective organization to present his or her work, and how to present his or her message with clarity and integrity. Faculty are invited to bring their SoTL manuscripts under development for discussion and feedback. About the Facilitator: This workshop will be facilitated by Jed Lyons, Faculty Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of South Carolina. His 2006 promotion to Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering was based in part upon his scholarship about engineering education. This workshop is sponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence. For more information, visit www.sc.edu/cte. To request a reminder for this event, email email@example.com or call 803-777-8322.
