Teaching Excellence Workshop: Teaching Larger Classes Wednesday, October 14, 2009, 12:20-1:10 p.m. and Thursday, October 15, 2009, 12:20-1:10 p.m. (choose one) Center for Teaching Excellence, Thomas Cooper Library, Room 511 Description: Due to the current demanding economy, many university faculty find themselves teaching greater than normal student numbers in their classes. Such conditions often require modifications or complete redesigns in course design, management, scheduling, instructional methodologies and assessment practices. This workshop will outline selected recommended and shared practices that make these new accommodations manageable. About the Facilitator: Dr. Walter Hanclosky is a Professor of Media Arts at the University of South Carolina and an Associate Director at the Center for Teaching Excellence.
