This exhibit celebrates the lives and achievements of two remarkable individuals who made heroic contributions to the Civil Rights movement in South Carolina -- Modjeska Simkins and I. DeQuincey Newman. Both provided distinguished leadership for the South Carolina branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 30, 2009.
