A Celebration of Frank J. Anderson and the Kitemaug Press

Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library

Frank J. Anderson (1919-2013), a librarian and fine press printer, was the proprietor of the Spartanburg-based Kitemaug Press. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran, the librarian of Wofford College (1966-1984), a charter member of the Miniature Book Society, a collector of miniature books, pop-up books, submarine books, and domestic and foreign ABC books.

This brief exhibition showcases some of the collection of Anderson's Papers that have been given to the South Caroliniana Library, including the records of the Kitemaug Press and Anderson's collection of mail art, as well as a large collection of letterpress printing equipment and book arts materials that have recently been given to the Irvin Department of Rare Books and Special Collections by the Anderson family.
