Get off on the right foot with University Libraries

Welcome to new students and faculty!  The University Libraries has some guides, tours, and workshops to get you oriented.

Faculty, bookmark the Faculty Library Guide for quick links to library resources and services for your teaching and research.

There’s also a guide especially for graduate students.


Tours of Thomas Cooper Library, the main library, last approximately half an hour and begin just inside the entrance to the library.  No need to register.

            Carolina Welcome Week, August 19 – 23 at 3:00pm

            August 30, September 6, September 13 at 11:00am  and  3:30pm


 Register for a workshop.  Topics include:

 -          Research Readiness, highlighting library services and resources of special interest to graduate student researchers

-         Introduction to Zotero, free citation management software

-     Keeping Up With Your Research:  RSS Feeds and Email Alerts, have new research delivered directly to you

 -     Research Impact, covers strategies for deciding where to publish (including impact factors) and methods for finding who has cited your work
