Gilboa, New York--outtakes

Filmed on September 17, 1925, these Fox News outtakes capture the village of Gilboa before a new dam on the Schoharie Creek flooded the area to create a reservoir of drinking water for New York City. The structure was completed in 1927 and the majority of the village was submerged. Surrounding buildings were either demolished or overgrown by trees and foliage in the following years. The current town of Gilboa was settled north of the new reservoir.
