The Documents Department has microprint of the Journal of the House of Commons for 1547-1900 and the House of Commons Sessional papers for 1731-1979 and microfiche for the years 1979/80-present.

More recent documents may be available from The Stationery Office.

Indexes and Databases

Index to British Parliamentary Papers: 1990-present available on CD-ROM in the Documents Electronic Resources room. Monthly index to House of Commons Sessional papers, the House of Lords Sessional papers, Hansard's Debates and the Journal of the House of Commons. Hansard's Debates present what is said on the floor of both Houses of Parliament. The Journal of the House of Commons is an enlarged account of the proceedings of the House of Commons. The House of Lords Sessional Papers presents Bills, Reports of Committees, Reports of Commissions, and Accounts and Papers. The House of Commons Sessional Papers present Bills, Reports, Accounts and Papers, and Command Papers.

BOPCRIS: British Official Publications Collaborative Reader Information Service. "Search and browse information from British Official Publications over the period 1688-1995. Read abstracts, and view detailed consistent subject indexing of key documents. You can then read the digitised full-text version of a limited number of these documents."

Enhanced British Parliamentary Papers on Ireland, 1801-1922: "involves the electronic cataloguing and full-text digitization of some 13,700 British Parliamentary papers (containing around 365,000 pages) from the University of Southhampton's unique Ford Collection of Official Publications." Currently "a comprehensive searchable database of Parliamentary Papers relating to Ireland 1801-1922, with bibliographic information, Library of Congress subject descriptors and, for a significant selection of items, abstracts of contents" is available for searching and browsing. Full text will be available in 2005.
