This digital collection is comprised of chapbooks published in Scotland in the nineteenth century, excluding those with poems by Robert Burns, which may be accessed at Robert Burns Chapbooks from the G. Ross Roy Collection. These chapbooks include prose histories, songs, humorous poetry, and narrative verse.
This project was developed by William Robinson (MLIS 2012) as part of an internship supervised by Elizabeth Sudduth, Director of the Irvin Department, during the summer of 2012. William Robinson completed the digitization of the chapbooks, created the metadata, and uploaded it into the content management system. Robinson scanned the items on an Avision FB6280E scanner and created metadata using Dublin Core best practices with the help of Digital Collections Project Manager Ashley Knox. Matthew W. Shepherd created the landing page. This project could not have been completed without the help of Tony Branch, systems administrator for the CONTENTdm database.
