South Carolina Political Collections

This fund supports the training and education of archivists through internships, assistantships, and post-graduate employment with South Carolina Political Collections (SCPC).  The endowment was created in 1999 by Schuyler L. and Yvonne R. Moore in honor of their daughter Deanna, who worked in SCPC as an undergraduate volunteer, then as a graduate student enrolled in the archives program, and finally as a Hollings Papers Project Archivist.

Schuyler and Yvonne Moore Endowed Summer Internship

This competitive summer internship is a key component of the endowment and carries a significant stipend. The internship is awarded annually to a graduate student enrolled in an archival education program outside of South Carolina.  Intern projects require a minimum of 135 hours, with duties such as arranging and describing a collection or a series within a major collection, creating an exhibit, completing a digitization project, or transcribing oral history interviews.  To apply for this internship, please visit:
