Featuring our summer intern…

picture of Emily working

Emily works in the lower right hand of this picture. Look closely and you’ll see 6 other SCPCers hard at work.

This summer, Emily Rogers, senior history major, interned with us as part of an undergrad history course. USC’s Office of Publications featured her, and an intern in USC Libraries’ Digital Collections department, in a recent article, “What I Did This Summer: Make history more accessible.” Check it out! She’s on the right in the picture, diligently studying a document from one of our collections.

Emily’s work this summer resulted in three updated finding aids for our research public. She picked up our business of archiving rather quickly. She added several boxes of material to the records of the League of Women Voters of SC and the League of Women Voters, Columbia chapter. She finished quicker than expected so she also added material to the Gregory Shorey Papers.

So, thank you, Emily, for all your hard work and a great attitude!
